John Mitchell joined the Department of Employment and Social Development in 2022 as a Senior Policy Analyst in the Performance Measurement Division. Prior to this, he was at Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada for over five years as an analyst and advisor. This included in roles such as Unit Head of Sector Services within the Corporate Management Sector, and Policy Advisor on International and Intergovernmental Alignment (supporting Canada’s Biomanufacturing and Life Sciences Strategy in response to the COVID-19 pandemic). John is happy to work in the public service as a native of Ottawa. Before joining the Government of Canada, he graduated from Algonquin College with a Diploma in Business Marketing, and an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration. Subsequently, he continued his education in Ottawa, graduating from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Commerce.
