Erica Kaneza, Manager, Gender Based Analysis Centre of Expertise, Strategic Policy, and Innovation, Natural Resources Canada, Government of Canada

Erica Kaneza joined the GBA Plus Centre of Expertise at Natural Resources in 2021. Her main objective as the manager is to ensure that GBA Plus is central to NRCan’s culture and is applied to all facets of work, allowing for equal and equitable opportunities and results for all Canadians. Throughout her career, she has gained experience in the areas of policy, program evaluation, corporate planning and reporting, performance measurement, and GBA Plus. Prior to this, Erica started her career with the results division at Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS), followed by the evaluation and audit branch at the National Research Council (NRC). Erica also gained provincial experience with the Ontario Ministry of Finance. At TBS, Erica worked on the design and initial implementation of the Policy on Results, led the development of guidance documents for the departmental plan, and coordinated the results section of the Management Accountability Framework. The highlight of her experience with NRC was designing quantitative and qualitative data collection instruments.

Erica has a master’s degree in public administration from École nationale d’administration publique and a bachelor’s degree in international economics at the University of Ottawa.
