Stephanie Hawkins is the current Director, Evaluation with the Government of Yukon. She holds BScH and MSc degrees in Biology (Queen’s University) and, in her earlier career, held a variety of environmental program roles with CIRNAC, DND, The Nature Conservancy, and the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA).
Intrigued by the intersections of complexity, communication, and decision-making, Stephanie subsequently completed a Graduate Diploma in Science Communication (Laurentian University) with a focus on the visualization of data and information. This was followed by a MBA (Yale University) that focused on public sector strategy, innovation, and organizational behaviour.
Post-MBA, Stephanie returned to the TRCA where she built a Strategic Business Planning and Performance unit within its Finance division and designed and implemented the TRCA’s Centralized Planning and Reporting (CPR) data platform. At the Government of Yukon, Stephanie and the Evaluation Unit team serve as corporate resources on matters of performance measurement, evaluation, and strategic alignment. The implementation of the government’s new Performance Measurement & Evaluation Framework – including the design and build of its accompanying data platform, the Integrated Results Information System (IRIS) – is a current focus of her work.
